DUBIEUS DESIGN winter - JANUARY 17TH '09

Combining the 'IN-VIEW' exhibition with once again a pop-up shop for two days. Atelier Solarshop and Design Centre combined forces and formed synergy for a more diverse Dubieus Design winter edition.




A collection of vintage design furniture, mostly industrial & '50-ties design filled up the space of Atelier Solarshop for two days.

SECOND 'IN-VIEW' EXHIBITION- JANUARY 16TH '09

The 2nd Edition of 'IN-VIEW' was devoted to Antwerp based artist Peter Hulsmans. In his work Peter Hulsmans transforms our daily environment in a way trying to make us more aware of that granted environment. Common objects and situations are alianated, which enables the viewer to relive certain experiences more profound.






For the 'IN-VIEW' project Hulsmans mirrored the facade of Atelier Solarshop inwards. He reconstructed the total front in white carton.

FIRST 'IN-VIEW' EXHIBITION - NOVEMBER 27TH '08

Atelier Solarshop being a crossroad and workshop for artists, designers and other creatives, decided to open up to the neighbourhood and to use its front windows as a platform.
This project is called 'IN-VIEW'

'IN-VIEW' = a collaborative project. Artists are invited to work around Atelier Solarshop's front windows. This way Atelier Solarshop becomes a platform and will temporarily be showing different works and visions to a broad audience.







For the first edition, painter Kevin Welslau was invited. Graduated from Sint Lucas Antwerp Kevin Welslau is currently working in Atelier Solarshop on his artworks. His utopian paintings and natural elements form strong contrasts with the reality of our modern 'concrete jungle'.

SEPTEMBER 19TH '08 - EXHIBITION Anouk Peeters

Anouk Peeters is one of the active artists that founded Atelier Solarshop.
As a jewelry designer she creates concepts for installations which she later translates into jewelry.


'ATTRACTION' is a sculptured installation made out of threads attached to the ceiling.
The fragile form floating and hoovering in the space absorbs the viewer while dominating ones space and view.

DUBIEUS DESIGN - JUNE 28TH '08

Just after the opening, Atelier Solarshop's space turned into a pop-up shop for vintage design furniture. Dubieus Design = a flea market organized twice a year by Design Centre where collectors can present their collectibles up for sale; mostly vintage design furniture.
In the summer this event is held in open air in Dambruggestraat . The winter edition takes place in the Design Center -1 space.

SPACE OPENING - JUNE 26TH '08

Atelier Solarshop opened its space on June 26th 2008 with an exhibition of photographs 'Sollitude Settings' by Piëtro Celestina.
